I have over 5 years of experience working with newborns, and countless hours spent on training and workshops. Babies safety always comes first, I only offer a safe, calm environment for your precious new baby.

Due to demand i highly recommend pre-booking your session while still pregnant, as it can always be moved if your birth occurs sooner or later than expected. We generally set a tentative date based on your due date and then lock in a session date once Baby is born. Otherwise if your bub has already arrived, give me a call as soon as possible so we can book you into the first available session time.

A retainer deposit MUST be made to book your session date to secure the time and the date.

Newborns are best photographed in the first 8-12 days of their lives. During those first days they sleep better and stay in those adorable curly little poses. However, please do not hesitate to contact me if your baby is older, it is still possible to get super cute images. Not all the poses might be possible but we will get more awake/alert images with baby looking right at the camera. These are some of my favourite photos!

The newborn session will take place at my home based studio in Point Cook, 25km’s West of Melbournes CBD. This assures that I have proper lighting and access to all of my props, little outfits and beautiful blankets.

Absolutely. I always welcome family members/ siblings to come and be a part of the family photos for both the Classic and Deluxe Collections. It is recommended to have someone available to take the sibling home after they are finished. Newborn sessions are lengthy and siblings usually will get bored very quickly.

I have heaps of cute little outfits/ wraps for Baby to wear, so you won’t have to worry about that. However on the day of the session please dress Baby in a Onesie with no undergarment underneath. This will help eliminate any creases or red marks on the baby’s body. If you have any hats, bows, headbands, blankets, props, family heirlooms you would like included in the images feel free to bring them along.

It is best to keep it simple. Solid colours and layers translate well, please try to stay away from distracting prints/patterns or lots of text on the clothing. We don’t want your clothes to be competing for your attention. Also the studio will be very warm so try to pick something lightweight and breathable.

Newborn sessions can take up to 2-3 hours to complete. That allows us plenty of time to feed, change and soothe the baby. I will take some photographs of the baby awake, but most of my photographs will be while he or she is asleep. You can help by feeding the baby approximately half an hour before the session.

A cake smash photo session is a fun, joyful way to commemorate the milestone of your little one’s first birthday. Usually taken between 9-12 month of age it is a great time to capture their little personalities and also a good opportunity to use those cute pictures for their first Birthday invitations!

We start the session off with taking a few portrait shots, then introduce the cake and let the fun begin! Some Babies are a little unsure at first when placed in front of the cake and need a little help and encouragement, not every Baby digs straight in. But don’t worry, we will still manage to get a lot of messy shots! When bub has had enough, we move him/her to the mini bathtub and give them a nice warm bath and get those super cute bath photos. And the best thing; Baby will be nice and clean for you to take home and you don’t have to worry about the mess as that is all included in my cake smash package.

The Cake

Depending on which package you book the cake will have to be organised by yourself (basic package) or will be included in my all inclusive cake smash package. In that case i will have a giant cupcake ready waiting in my studio when you arrive, so no need to worry about it!

Please note that if your child has allergies, the cake will have to be provided by you.

I have a selection of different outfits and lovely buntings to accessorise your shoot with or you are more than welcome to bring your own if you prefer. Please check out my facebook page or website for pics of my outfits & backdrops. I also advise to bring a change of clothes for parents, as the icing can quite literally get everywhere!

You can book as far in advance as you like, this ensures you get a slot that suits you best.  Most of my clients book a date a few weeks before their baby’s birthday as images from their session are used to display at their baby’s birthday party and used for invitations / Thank you Cards.

You will receive the high res images as jpg’s on a CD within 10-14 days after the Cake smash. Just keep that in mind when booking the session, especially if you want to use them for the Birthday invitations.

Please contact me before your session to reschedule. The cakes generally keep really well in the fridge for 7 days. It is always better to rebook your session, if your baby is unwell, overtired or grizzly with teething as we are very unlikely to get a good session from them that day.

Because 1 year olds give us a very short window to work with, i always try to make the cake smash my priority to ensure they are happy and we get the pictures we want. But if you would like additional family pictures these can quickly be done prior to the cake smash (this is limited to one additional set up) and purchased for $20.00 per picture.

The Cake smash sessions take place at my home based studio in Point Cook (25kms West of Melbournes CBD) or outdoors if you prefer.

Maternity images are best be taken between 32 – 36 weeks of pregnancy as you will have a nice Baby Belly to show off without feeling too tired or uncomfortable.

Maternity sessions usually take around 45 mins, with 2-3 outfit changes.

I highly encourage you to include your partner and other children in the shoot as this is a special time for them as well.

I offer studio, outdoors or milk bath maternity sessions

I have a large variety of internationally sourced maternity gowns / chiffon/ lace fabric / wraps for you to wear during your session, so you do not have to worry about bringing your own dresses. However please bring nude coloured / white underwear with you.
